Snuggs & Vance ink early with ULM & Blue Mountain

Jonathan Snuggs (West Monroe, La.) and Jackson Vance (Canton), both sophomores on the Mississippi Delta Community College baseball team, recently inked with the University of Louisiana-Monroe (ULM) and Blue Mountain College baseball programs, respectively.

Snuggs, a sophomore left-handed pitcher, was effective for the Trojans as a freshman, making 11 appearances and finishing with a 3-3 record and picking up 29 strikeouts to only 11 walks in 22 innings pitched. He will look to help the Warhawks in a variety of roles, either as a reliever or as a starter, in a return back to his hometown for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Vance, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, gained valuable experience as a rookie, ending the season with six appearances and allowing only five hits. He will be counted on immediately in a bullpen role for the Toppers.

Both Snuggs & Vance figure in heavily to the pitching plans for the 2020 version of MDCC baseball, which gets underway at 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 at East Central Community College in Decatur.
