The Mississippi Delta Community College football team returns to Jim Randall Stadium on Thursday night at 7 p.m. when the Trojans welcome Hinds Community College to town for a non-division showdown.

MDCC opened the 2019 season just less than a week ago, and fell to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to fall to 0-1 on the year.

Hinds is 1-0 after defeating No. 1 East Mississippi Community College, 24-16, in week one. The Eagles are led by head coach Larry Williams, a former defensive line standout on the 1993 MDCC national championship team and member of the MDCC Sports Hall of Fame.

Treveon Miles (Woodville) scored the lone touchdown for the Trojans against Gulf Coast, rushing into the endzone from 14 yards out. Spencer Romero (Brookhaven) added a field goal to complete the scoring for MDCC.

On the defensive side, the Trojans were led by Colton Mallard-Wilson (Hollandale) and Xavier Coleman (Jackson), who each finished with seven tackles on the evening in week one.

Hinds had a dynamic return game against East Mississippi in the opener, led by Jakarius Caston, who had three kickoff returns for 132 yards (44 yards per return) and one touchdown. Don Ragsdale also finished with 70 yards on the ground and one touchdown.

DeMario Nichols led the Eagles defensively in week one, as he finished with six tackles, two pass breakups and one interception that went for 83 yards and a touchdown.
