It's Homecoming week in Moorhead and the Mississippi Delta Community College football team will wrap up the festivities with the annual Homeconing game on Saturday versus Northeast Community College at 2:30 p.m. at Jim Randall Stadium.

The Trojans of MDCC are coming off their first win of the season versus Coahoma Community College on Saturday, as Delta came from behind to gain a 29-27 victory and move to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the North division. Northeast narrowly defeated Itawamba Community College, 14-12, in week five to advance to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the North.

MDCC has recently been led by the emergence of Byron Walker (Sulphur, La.), a sophomore quarterback that has taken the reins of the Delta offense. He is currently 37-61 for 534 yards, five touchdowns and has yet to throw an interception. Walker is coming off a stellar performance against Coahoma, in which he was 24 of 39 for 384 yards and three touchdowns.

LaDarrius Glover (West Point) is among a core group of defenders that have led the MDCC defense through the midway point. The sophomore defensive lineman leads the team in sacks (four), tackles for loss (4.5), forced fumbles (two) and has picked up 16 tackles.

Northeast has been led offensively by quarterback Jack Mangel, who is 102-166 for 944 yards and five touchdowns, and has spread the wealth amongst the Tigers receiving corps, as six different Northeast receivers have at least 12 catches.

The Tigers defense will be led by Jamarcus Smith, who currently has 40 tackles through five games, to go along with five tackles for loss, two sacks and two fumble recoveries.
