Men's basketball heads into break with momentum

The Mississippi Delta Community College men's basketball team will head into the annual Christmas break with a touch of momentum, as the Trojans soundly defeated Royal Ambassadors Christian School, 110-56, in their last outing on Dec. 6.

At the current time, MDCC sits at 4-6 overall and 0-1 in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) play.

The offensive side of the ball has been kind to the Trojans at this point, as three players are averaging in double digits. Quintaures Boatman (Indianola, 15.8 points per game), Darius Jackson (Plaquemine, La., 14.3 points per game) and Brandon Kimble (Indianola, 13.9 points per game) are the three student-athletes who has caught fire offensively.

Boatman (5.8 per game) and Kimble (5.1 per game) have also led the way on the rebounding end.

The Trojans will return to action just after the New Year, traveling to Baton Rouge (La.) Community College on Jan. 3 for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
