Men’s basketball left with three games to play

The Mississippi Delta Community College men's basketball team has three games remaining in the 2018-2019 regular season.

The Trojans hosted Itawamba Community College on Monday and looked to pick up a much needed Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) win, but came away on the short end, falling 64-59 to the visiting Indians. The loss dropped the Trojans to 7-13 and 2-7 in conference play with five of the conference losses coming by five points or less.

Darius Jackson (Plaquemine, La.) currently leads all MDCC scorers with a 14.6 points per game average, while the Indianola duo of Brandon Kimble and Quintaures Boatman are close behind at 14.1 and 14 points per game, respectively.

Kimble also leads the team in rebounds per game with an average of 6.2 boards per contest.

MDCC will travel to Northwest Community College on Thursday night for their next action, which will get underway at 7 p.m. in Senatobia. The Trojans home finale is set for Monday, Feb. 18 against Northeast Community College (8 p.m.) and the regular season will conclude when MDCC travels to Clarksdale to face Coahoma Community College on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.
