Brandon Kimble transferring to Arkansas

Brandon Kimble, a former Mississippi Delta Community College men's basketball standout, will be heading to the University of Arkansas to play for the Razorbacks in the 2020-2021 season.

Kimble spent the past season at nearby Mississippi Valley State University, where he played in 29 games for the Delta Devils, starting in 10 contests. The 6'7' forward averaged 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 points and 0.8 assists per game.

He landed at Mississippi Delta in 2018-2019 after spending the previous season at Pearl River Community College. It was in Moorhead where Kimble shined, averaging 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in 27.3 minutes as a sophomore.

Kimble shot 45.3 percent from the field, including 34.3 percent from three-point range. He also had three double-doubles, including a game of 30 points scored at Jones College. His play on the floor allowed him to play in the prestigious Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star game at the conclusion of his sophomore campaign.

Kimble, who will have one season of eligibility remaining at the U of A, was a high school standout at local Indianola Academy. It was here that he was named Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) All-State and All-Star, as well as being named the MAIS AAA District One MVP.
