Darius Jackson signs with Dalton State

Darius Jackson (Plaquemine, La.) will be heading to Dalton State (Ga.) College after an honor-filled, two-year career as a men's basketball standout at Mississippi Delta Community College.

Jackson was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State first team in 2019-2020 after leading the Trojans in minutes (31.6), points (19.0) and assists per game (2.3). He finished his sophomore season averaging 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game, good enough for second on the ballclub.

As a freshman in 2018-2019, Jackson averaged 29.1 minutes per game, 14.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game for an MDCC team that played in the MACJC state tournament.

Jackson, a graduate of Plaquemine (La.) High School, will have two years of eligibility remaining at Dalton State, an NAIA power that finished 30-3 in the COVID-shortened 2019-2020 season.
