Lady Trojans basketball looks for fresh start heading into New Year

The Lady Trojans of Mississippi Delta Community College are looking forward to the 2019 portion of the women's basketball season, as MDCC ended the 2018 part with a 2-6 record and 0-1 mark in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) play.

The last time MDCC took the floor before the Christmas break was a 75-64 defeat at the hands of conference rival East Mississippi Community College.

At the time of the release, the three-headed play of Shammia Love (Moorhead), Erika Faulkner (Independence) and Patrisha Lollis (Greenville) has been the strong point of the Lady Trojans.

Love is currently averaging 14.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, Faulkner is at 10.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game and Lollis is nearly averaging a double-double with 9.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

The Trojans hit the hardwood again on Jan. 3, heading to Baton Rouge (La.) Community College for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
