Women's basketball defeats Hinds

The Mississippi Delta Community College women's basketball team picked up a 64-57 win over Hinds Community College in Moorhead on Monday, Nov. 18 in the team's latest action. Antanisha Wade (Cleveland) was the big scorer on the evening, pouring in 17 points and collecting four rebounds to help MDCC move to 2-4 in the season's early going.

Delta had previously traveled to Senatobia to play in the Lady Ranger Classic hosted by Northwest Community College, and the Trojans dropped two consecutive out-of-conference contests.

On Friday, Nov. 15, MDCC fell to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, 60-48. Marlaysha Beamon (Canton) led all MDCC scorers with 14 points, to go along with nine boards. Tate pitched in with a solid evening of her own, scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds to narrowly miss out on a double-double.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, Delta dropped a 75-53 decision to Mineral Area (Mo.) Community College. Tate had a very nice statistical night, finishing with 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Lady Trojans return to action on Monday, hosting Baton Rouge (La.) Community College at 3 p.m. as part of the Mississippi Delta Classic at J.T. Hall Coliseum in Moorhead.
