As non-conference play in the fall semester is coming to an end, the Mississippi Delta Community College women's basketball team played two games prior to Monday's conference tilt with East Mississippi Community College and split the pair of games. MDCC fell at Co-Lin Community College, 64-56, on Wednesday night, but also picked up a 71-58 win over Baton Rouge Community College on Nov. 25 in Moorhead.

The split has the ladies sitting at 3-5 overall in head coach Tangela Banks' first season.

Venita Williams (Southaven) was the team's stat leader against the Lady Wolves of Co-Lin, finishing with 17 points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds. She was aided by Jacambriyona Cheatham (Macon), who had nine points on the night in the defeat.

In the 71-58 win over Baton Rouge during the Thanksgiving break, MDCC was led by Artavia Tate (Belzoni), who had 20 points to lead all Delta scorers. Cheatham and Antanisha Wade (Cleveland) each had nine points in the victory.

As previously mentioned, the Lady Trojans will play host to East Mississippi Community College at 6 p.m. at J.T. Hall Coliseum in Moorhead. The contest will mark the opener for both teams in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) play.
