The Mississippi Delta Community College departmental, achievement, service and leadership awards were recently announced, and eight student-athletes were named as recipients of these prestigious honors.

The list of recipients are as follows:

• Jacambriyona Cheatham (Macon) – Lady Trojan Award, Introduction to Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education and Recreation Award
• Calabe Collins (Terry) – Personal and Community Health Award
• Tyra Hudson (Leland) – Female Athlete Academic Award
• George Jackson (Rolling Fork) – Stonestreet Award
• Erica Keller (Greenville) – Business Office Technology Departmental Award, Phi Beta Lambda President
• Cearra McPherson (Springdale, Ark.) – Education Award
• Spencer Romero (Brookhaven) – Male Athlete Academic Award
• Olivia Whatley (Tutwiler) – Student Government Association President
