McGregor chosen as NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week

Lane McGregor (Pontotoc), a sophomore punter on the Mississippi Delta Community College football team, was chosen as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday for his role in last week's contest versus East Mississippi Community College in Moorhead.

McGregor, who on Tuesday was voted as the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Special Teams Player of the Week, had nine punts for 361 yards versus the Lions, good enough for a 40.1 yards per punt average. He had a long punt of 56 yards and left five punts inside the EMCC 20-yard line.
 
McGregor has currently punted 27 times for 1,077 yards, good for an average of 39.9 yards per punt. He has landed 12 punts inside the opponents 20-yard line, as well as seeing seven of his punts go for fair catches and three land as touchbacks.
