MOORHEAD – The Mississippi Delta Community College softball team will continue Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) play on Saturday, when the Trojans welcome Copiah-Lincoln Community College to town for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
MDCC traveled to Decatur on March 20 to face East Central Community College, but was unable to come away with a victory in the two-game set, losing 6-0 in game one and 14-3 in game two.
MDCC vs. EAST CENTRAL, 3/20/21
In the first game on Saturday in Decatur, the Trojans struggled to piece together enough offensive support to come away with a victory.
Dallas Brown (Union), Anna Carlisle (Polkville), Mary Scott Lofton (Doddsville) and Madisen Rainey (Water Valley) each picked up a hit in the opener.
Gracie Parsons (Southaven) took the loss in the circle in game one despite a five inning effort.
Carlisle and Kyla Williams (Foxworth) each had home runs in the second game, with Carlisle's being of the two-run variety, but it was not enough for the victory.
Cearra McPherson (Springdale, Ark.) was charged with the loss in the circle in the nightcap.
