Lady Trojans Picking up Needed Wins

Head Coach Tre Hobbs and the MDCC Lady Trojans added three wins to the 2024 season this past week. The Lady Trojans took down ASU-Newport in a double-header, 3-1 and 11-2 but then dropped a Good Friday double-header to Copiah-Lincoln, 8-0 and 10-0. 

But this past Wednesday, the Lady Trojans took the first game of a double-header with Holmes, 4-1. Sophomore Carlie Vannucci picked up the win going all seven innings giving up three hits, one run while racking up eight strikeouts. The Lady Trojans collected nine hits in 28 at bats with sophomore MarQueshia Starks leading the team going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs.

The Lady Trojans dropped game two to Holmes, 5-1 but had the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t get them home.

The Lady Trojans host East Central on Saturday and then travel to Coahoma on Tuesday, April 9 followed by a road trip to Hinds on Friday, April 12. Follow the Lady Trojans on the GameChanger app and at MDCCTrojans.com.
