Banks announces first full signing class

Tangela Banks, head women's basketball coach at Mississippi Delta Community College, has announced her first signing class.

Banks and her staff have signed 12 student-athletes to a national letter-of-intent and each will be eligible for the 2020-2021 season, which will be her second year at the helm of the Lady Trojans program.

"I am very excited about our first full recruiting class at MDCC," said Banks. "These young ladies will be a great addition to our family, as we continue to focus on the new era here in Moorhead."

The 12 signees are as follows: 

1. Beyonce Browder

  • 5'7" Shooting Guard
  • Humphreys County High School/Belzoni
  • All-District recipient 

2. Artasia Dent

  • 5'10" Guard/Forward
  • Tylertown High School/Tylertown
  • Helped lead THS to the 3A state semifinals

3. An'Teresa Dickson

  • 5'9" Guard
  • Booker T. Washington/Memphis, Tenn.
  • Named to the All-Metro team

4. Bryeisha Eason

  • 5'9" Forward
  • Olive Branch High School/Olive Branch
  • Selected to the All-State team after helping OB claim the 6A state championship 

5. Victoriah Harvey

  • 6'3" Center
  • Pearl High School/Pearl
  • Key contributor in leading the Lady Pirates to the 6A state quarterfinals

6. Tanzania Lloyd

  • 6'0" Center
  • Cleveland Central High School/Cleveland
  • All-District honoree 

7. Diamond Nelson

  • 6'0" Shooting Guard
  • Hillcrest High School/Memphis, Tenn.
  • All-State, All-Metro and All-District recipient after a highly-decorated high school career

8. Rodericka Parker

  • 5'6" Point Guard
  • Selma High School/Selma, Ala.
  • All-District selection who eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in her career
  • Back-to-back winner of the Player of the Year award by the Selma-Times Journal 

9. Juquala Sherrod

  • 6'1" Center
  • New Hope High School/Columbus
  • Chosen to the All-Tournament team in helping lead the Lady Trojans to the second round of the 5A state playoffs 

10. Arriyunna Washington

  • 5'7" Point Guard
  • Holly Springs High School/Holly Springs
  • All-District honoree who was a member of the 1,000 point club for points scored during her high school years

11. Makia Willis

  • 5'9" Shooting Guard
  • Lumberton High School/Lumberton 
  • Selected as the Most Valuable Player in her district as a senior 

12. Takiela Wright

  • 5'11" Forward
  • Cleveland Central High School/Cleveland
  • All-District recipient in her final campaign
