Lady Trojans Off to Best Start in Years

Lady Trojans Off to Best Start in Years

Lady Trojans Sporting Best Record in Years

Sitting at 8-2 overall, the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans have one of the best records at the Christmas Break in quite some time. Even with a 65-61 road loss last week to University of Arkansas Cossatot – a team they beat earlier at home – the Lady Trojans are poised for a good run for the second half of the season.

The Lady Trojans are averaging 67 points per game and have been shooting 50 percent from the field and 32 percent from the three point arc. A bit lacking at the free throw line at 60 percent but MDCC has a commanding 40 rebounds per game along with averaging 15 assists per game.

The Lady Trojans kick off the new year on the road the first three games – Thursday, January 11 at Holmes Community College, Tuesday, January 16 at Meridian Community College and Thursday, January 18 at East Central Community College. They finally get back to the friendly confines of J.T. Hall Coliseum on Monday, January 22 against Hinds Community College.
