Student-athletes achieve high marks in the classroom
Although the 2020 spring semester was cut short due to COVID-19, it did not limit the high marks achieved in the classroom by the student-athletes at Mississippi Delta Community College. The Trojans recently had 65 student-athletes named to the President's, Dean's and Honors lists for the spring 2020 term.
There were 12 student-athletes named to the President's List, which is for those students who had a perfect 4.0 GPA. The Dean's List is for students who had a 3.5-3.99 GPA, of which MDCC had 22 recipients. Finally, there were 31 student-athletes chosen for the Honors List, which is for students with a 3.0-3.49 GPA.
To be eligible for recognition for one of these three lists, the students must have completed 12 or more semester hours.
In addition, MDCC also saw 32 student-athletes graduate from the college.
The athletic department also had three teams post a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher - baseball (3.44), softball (3.40) and women's basketball (3.20).
