Fayette, Mississippi native Christian Day has been named as the Mississippi Delta Community College Mens' Baseball Assistant Coach for the 2024-25 season. Coach Day played two seasons at Copiah Lincoln Community College and then three years at Delta State University. He played professionally in the American Association with the Chicago Dogs in 2021 and played four years of professional baseball with Chicago, Utah and Colorado.

The former Statesman right-handed pitcher was 8-5 on the mound appearing in 31 games, started 17 pitching 119.1 innings, and had a career 4.30 ERA.
