Bulldogs blow out the Trojans, 58-6

MOORHEAD --- The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 in the North Division and 5-2 overall with a big 58-6 victory over the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans here this afternoon.

The Bulldogs took a lead early in the game when John Ford found Deion Smith on a 54 yard touchdown pass. Jalen Ballard's kick was good, and Holmes led 7-0 with 14:09 left in the first.

Vontrez Rush scored from two yards out with 6:26 left in the first. Ballard's kick made it 14-0.

The Bulldogs added another score with 1:10 left in the quarter when Ford scored from a yard out. Ballard's kick was good, and the Bulldogs led 21-0.

Smith got his second touchdown on the night on a 34-yard pass from Ford. Ballard's kick was good, and Holmes led 28-0 with 14:49 left in the second.

A 7-yard touchdown pass to Dekari Johnson with 9:10 left in the second, and a Ballard PAT put Holmes up 35-0.

Jarvis Rush then got on the scoreboard with 6:05 left in the second when Lonnie Ratliff found him in the endzone from six yards out. Ballard's kick was good, and Holmes led 42-0.

Mississippi Delta scored their only points of the day with 59 seconds left in the second quarter. The extra point was blocked by the Bulldogs and Laterrius Haynes picked it up and raced in for two more points. Holmes led 44-6 going into halftime.

Colton DeShazo continued the scoring for the Bulldogs with 10:30 left in third when he pulled in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Ratliff. Ballard's kick was good, and Holmes led 51-6.

The final score of the game came for the Bulldogs when J.J. Grant bulled his way in from a yard out. Ballard's kick was good, and the Bulldogs led 58-6 with 9:10 left in the game.
