Trojans Split Double Header with Holmes, Win Game Two with Walk-Off

Holmes Community College came to town on Tuesday and left with a win and a loss. The Lady Trojans fell in game one, 5-1 but put on a great show in game two in an extra inning, walk-off 5-4 MACCC win.
The game was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when Zariah Wells doubled, scoring one run after the Lady Trojans trailed, 5-0 in the fifth. Holmes Community College got on the board in the top of the third inning after Jadyn Miles singled to center field, and Abbie McGee grounded out, each scoring one run. The Lady Trojans scored on a passed ball, which helped them tie the game at four in the bottom of the seventh.
Morgan Woods began the game for MDCC. The starting pitcher surrendered 12 hits and four runs over eight innings, striking out three and walking two. Mollie Swilley started in the circle for Holmes Community College. The hurler gave up three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two.
Bre Ruffin and Wells each drove in one run for the Lady Trojans and the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. MDCC also stole three bases in the game, turned one double play in the game didn't commit a single error in either game. Allie Johnson made the most plays with five.
Holmes Community College collected 12 hits in the game. McGee drove the middle of the lineup, leading Holmes Community College with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Miley Billie, Kaitlyn Jones, Swilley, and Cinclaire Simpson each collected two hits for Holmes Community College. Miles stole two bases. Holmes Community College ran wild on the base paths, collecting three stolen bases for the game.
