Lady Trojans Fall at Southwest, 54-39

The Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans (12-7 overall and 2-5 in MACCC) continued their losing skid on the hardwood with a 54-39 road loss to MACCC number one Southwest Community College (14-4 overall and 5-0 in MACCC) on Thursday night. The Lady Trojans were only down one, 30-29 heading into the fourth quarter but Southwest exploded for 24 points in the final period and held the Lady Trojans to six.

Freshman Lauren Lain led the Lady Trojans with only eight points. Tariyah Washington and Lauren Nelson each added six points. 

Michaela Payton led Southwest with 14 points.

Next up for the Lady Trojans is a Monday, February 12 home game with Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
