The MDCC Lady Trojans basketball team win back-to-back games in one of the first times in a long time as they charge their way to one of the best starts in school history with a 6-3 start (with two games being forfeited/cancelled).
The Lady Trojans entered their Saturday, November 19th game sitting at 3-3 after a tough loss to Coahoma CC (64-52). The Lady Trojans made a quick turn around as they defeated the University of Arkansas Cossatot by almost 30 points (62-33). Cha'Myrean Ellis (11pts and 10 rebounts), Santia Robinson (11pts and 4 steals), Katelyn Coleman (11pts and 7 assists), and LaDiamond Body (13 pts and 10 rebounds) were the teams top performers as the whole team had one of their best showings in recent history.
The Lady Trojans then defeated East Central CC (55-43) on the road in pretty good fashion. Ti'Alone Banks (11 pts and 6 rebounds) and Reshya Hudson (6pts and 3 rebounds) both contributed well off the bench as the starting five for this contest combined for 31 of the teams 55 point total.
The Lady Trojans now look to continue their winning streak and continue one of their best runs in school history against Northeast MS CC and South Arkansas CC.
Head Coach Tangela Banks and Assistant Coach Khalid Campbell have been very pleased with their squad, but know that the job is not yet completed and there is always room for improvement.
